Richard Ingersoll

Richard Ingersoll, age 48 of Nerstrand, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 2, 2017, in Northfield.

Richard James Ingersoll was born October 18, 1968, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Richard and Kathy (Wertman) Ingersoll.  He was raised in Council Bluffs and as an adolescent moved with his family to Burnsville.  He graduated from Burnsville High School in 1987 and attended St. Cloud State University.  On August 30, 1991, Richard married Karla Aamodt and the couple made their home in Burnsville before moving to Florida and later Oklahoma.  Richard spent several years working with his father at Strawberry Fields Ice Cream Shoppe before returning to Minnesota in 1997.  Richard and Karla lived in Farmington until moving to Nerstrand in 1999.  Richard worked in sales most of his career and had recently started working as a pharmacy technician at CVS in Burnsville. He enjoyed fantasy football, fishing and his dogs.  Richard was caring, friendly, helpful, generous with his time and easy to talk to.  He loved his family and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Karla; his daughters, Faith and Zoe; his mother, Kathy Hampton of Cottonwood, Arizona; his father, Richard (Diane) of Northfield; his brother, Matthew (Michaela) of Avondale, Arizona; his sister, Sheila (Jeff) King of Council Bluffs; his step-sister Stacy (Steve) Johnson of Farmington; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his step-mother Carol Ingersoll.

Funeral services will be 10:30AM, Friday, January 6, 2017, at Northfield Evangelical Free Church.  Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Northfield.  Visitation will be 4-7PM Thursday, January 5, 2017, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield.  Visitation will continue at the church on Friday one hour prior to the funeral.
