Warsaw Township, Goodhue County, MN— At 2313 on June 6, 2023 Nerstrand Fire and Rescue
Nerstrand and Dennison Stations, Minnesota State Patrol, and Goodhue County Sheriff responded to a
vehicle fire at the intersection of MN State Highway 56 North of 390th street. Kenyon Fire Department
also provided Mutual Aid assistance on the scene.
Upon responders’ arrival a vehicle accident involving a tractor pulling an implement and a vehicle was
witnessed with the vehicle being fully involved with fire. Upon extinguishment of the fire one victim was
found deceased. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time and the driver of the tractor was
not injured. The cause of the fire is unknown; identification of the deceased is pending notification of
family. Firefighters remained on scene assisting with lighting and investigation until 0126 on June 7,
2023.
The Minnesota State Patrol and Minnesota State Fire Marshal Division is investigating the accident as
well as the cause and origin of the fire.
