Training at Lions Park

We might be a small department, but what we lack in size we make up for in ingenuity.

Nerstrand firefighters trained on search and rescue and confined spaces at the Lions Park. Crews practiced climbing ladders, locking in to spray water, and then navigating their way out of the “structure” (a.k.a. the playground!) by following a hose line.

To make it even more realistic, their masks were covered so they had to work in low-light conditions—searching for victims without being able to see.

Everyone agreed it was an excellent training night, and a great way to keep our skills sharp!
